Please note that most of the above procedures refer to the installation and licensing of the FastSpring version of the game. If you have purchased the game from Steam, Steam will handle purchasing, licensing, and installation for you.

Change Saved_Games Path

How to import older saved games to the latest version

Question: I have an older version of the game that is a few years older than the current version and I want to buy the current version of the game and import my old saved games to the new version. How do I do this?

Answer: You can download trial versions of OOTP that will allow you to import your old saved games into the next years version, until you get to the current version. Here is where to download these trial versions. https://www.ootpdevelopments.com/ootp-prior-version/

Question: I last bought OOTP 21 off steam, can I use the trial versions to bring my saved games from OOTP 21 to the current Steam version of the game?

Answer: Yes. All you are using the trial version for is to convert the game to the next version so that it will import into the next version, until you reach the current version of the game.
