If you've purchased the game on Steam, the Steam client will install it for you. If you've downloaded the FastSpring version, you'll need to install it manually. OOTP uses a straightforward installation program on all platforms. Follow the instructions here to get OOTP up and running on your operating sytem:
To install OOTP on a Windows machine, you must be logged in as a user with administrative privileges. Once you are, follow these steps:
Download the game. After this step is completed, you should have a file called ootp24setup.exe saved somewhere on your computer.
Double-click the ootp25setup.exe file.
The setup program will launch and bring you to the Welcome screen. Click the Next button to continue with the installation.
You will be taken to the End User License Agreement screen. Read the License Agreement carefully. Click the 'I agree to the terms of this license agreement' radio button, and then click Next to continue.
You will be taken to a screen where you can choose where to install the game. If you want to use the default destination folder, click Next. Your installation will begin immediately, and you can skip to Step 9 below. If you want to change the destination folder, click the Install OOTP to user-defined folder radio button, and then click Next.
You will be taken to the Installation Folder screen. Note: A default OOTP installation installs files in several different areas of your computer. If you choose to install in a directory other than the default, all files will be stored in the new directory. Using the Change button, select the installation directory you wish to use, or simply type it directly into the text box. Once you are happy with the location, click Next.
OOTP will then present you with the Shortcut Folder screen. Choose a shortcut folder for the game to use, and whether these shortcuts should be available for all users or just the current users, and then click Next.
You will be taken to the Ready to Install screen. Confirm the settings you have selected, and then click Next to begin the installation. During the install process, you will see a progress meter.
When the install finishes, you will be asked if you want to add OOTP to the Start menu, and if you wish to create a desktop shortcut.
When the install is complete, you will see a completion message. Click Finish to complete the installation.
Double-click the OOTP shortcut to launch the game. OOTP will prompt you to purchase a copy of the game. If you have not yet purchased a license, you can do so now. The license will be shown on the purchase completion screen. You also get a payment confirmation email. If you have already purchased a license, enter your license number to activate the game.
To install OOTP on a Mac, follow these steps:Mac Installer
Download the game. After this step is completed, you should have a file called OOTPBaseball25Installer.dmg saved in your Downloads folder.
Double-click the installer file. A license agreement screen will display.
Read the License Agreement carefully, and then click on the Agree button to continue installing.
Drag and drop the OOTP Baseball 25 app into your Applications folder.
Open your Applications folder. Double-click the OOTP Baseball 25 icon to launch the game. If you have not yet purchased a license, you can do so now. The license will be shown on the purchase completion screen. You also get a payment confirmation email. If you have already purchased a license, enter your license number to activate the game.
