Custom Game

To create a new Custom Game, start on the OOTP Start Screen and click on NEW GAME

Next click on New Custom Game

Next Click on Fictional Button

Fictional League Creation Wizard Step 1

On Step 1 you can choose different options to create your fictional league. On the left hand side you can use the drop down menu you choose from pre-defined options or use the Modify League Structure section to set how many sub leagues you want 1 or 2, then how many divisions you want, 1-50, and then how many teams you want per division 2-50. If you choose either of the real world configurations of MLB or KBO, it will automatically advance to the Step 2 of the Wizard. If you choose to create your own setup, to advance to step 2 you must hit the green NEXT STEP button at the bottom right.

Depending on your choices from the page before, you will be using one of these three pages.

1. Fictional Setup - Here you will have some options you will not have with the other two choices. You have the option to pick your minor league levels which is an option not given with the other options. Your nation, region, league name, abbreviation, and what level, Default is a major league level.
2. MLB setup - If you chose the MLB setup you will have the Major League Baseball setup of MLB teams and MiLB teams. Just like with the Fictional Setup you can change the nation, region, league name, abbreviation, and the level of the league. You also have the option to click on the "Switch to historical team selection" which will allow you to pick different teams out of history. You can also edit all of the MLB team names while on this page.
3. KBO setup - This is a lot like the MLB setup. You can also switch to historical team selection but you can only pick MLB teams

Once you have your league set up you can click on Next Step to move on. (You can also edit your teams and league once the league is setup if you miss anything here.)

League Settings - On this page you can choose what year you want your league to be in. This will set up the financials to match that given year, player creation modifiers, and league strategy settings.

You can choose if you want to have the game automatically adjust league strategy settings when advancing to the new year by checking the box before this option.

Players - You can choose to hold an inaugural fantasy draft before the start of your league or uncheck this option to have all teams filled with random fictional players.

Schedule Settings - Here you can select your schedule options. The game will try and load a pre-defined schedule if the settings match otherwise OOTP schedule generator will be used. You can also set your season start date from January to December, choose how many games you want played in your season, and the typical series length.

Once you have all of your options set, hit the Next Step button.

Scouting & Player Ratings - Here you can select how player ratings are displayed by picking what kind of rating scales you want to use. You can also modify the accuracy of your scouting system or disabled it for 100% scouting rating.

Facegen Settings - Here you can control the facegen settings. You can choose if player facegens are for all players, major league players only, or no fictional pictures at all. You can also control the coach pictures and have them for all/coaches/scouts/managers or no fictional pictures. You can also choose the facegen color mode. You have the options of normal, black & white, or sepia.

Automatic League Evolution - Here you can choose if you would like the game to periodically change league rules, relocate teams, or expand the league, or you can disable this by unchecking the box.

Once you have gone through these steps you can then hit Next Step button.

Fictional League Creation Wizard Step 5

In this step you can set your game name, confirm your starting year, set your auto-save to once a year, once a month, once a week, daily, or dynamic. You can also adjust your trading settings, choose to use the hard mode trading system You can set up your manager profile and can also choose to play in commissioner mode (you do not need to choose this here as you can turn on commissioner mode at anytime in manager settings) and you can use the option that you cannot be fired.

Once you have finished picking your settings you then can hit the Next Step button. (Once you hit the next step button it will start to create your league)

This is the last step in your league creation where you can choose which team you want to control in your fictional league. Once you have selected your team you can then hit the Start Game button to start to play your league.
