Contract
Under contract, this will show you information about the current players contract, any extensions, and their roster status information.
Contract Information
- Contract Type - This will show either major League Contract or Minor League Contract (If minor league contract, no other info will be found in that section..
- Promised Roll - When a player signs a contract, a roll is promised. Not following this promised roll could caught a player to get angry and lose morale, which could make the player not play up to their potential.
- Expires - This is when the players contract expires.
- Signed prior to - This is when the contract was signed.
- Total years when signed - This is how many years the contract was signed for.
- Total value when signed - This is the total value of the contract when it was signed.
- Total value remaining - This is how much the team still owes on the current contract.
- Remaining Salaries - This is where the remaining salaries are broken down by year, showing the amount that is owed to the player that season.
Contract Extension information
In this section it will show if the player has signed a contract extension. Players can only sign extensions in the last year of the current contract.
Roster Status Information
- Player Expectations - This is where the player expects that they will play as a roll on the team. Could be Starting Pitcher, Bullpen, Closer, in the starting lineup, as the cleanup hitter.
- Trade Availability - This will show if the player has a NTC (No Trade Clause) If under NTC it also might list expectations of teams they will be willing to except a trade to, or will show as available for trades.
- Major League Service Time - Players receive Major League service time for each day spent on the 26-man roster or the Major League injured list. Important to players and clubs alike, service time is used to determine when players are eligible for arbitration as well as free agency.
- Major League Service This Year - How many days this season a player has occurred.
- Time on Secondary Roster - This is how much time the player has been on the secondary 40 man roster.
- Time as a Professional - This is how many years the player has has a Major League contract.
- Minor League Options - This is how many options a player still has left.
- Times Optioned this Season - Once a player is optioned in a year they can be optioned multiple times that year. Once a player is out of option years this can no longer be used without having to waive the player.
- Salary Arbitration Status - This is how you can tell if a player is not yet eligible for arbitration, if they are eligible for arbitration in the off-season, or no longer eligible.
- Arbitration Estimate - This gives an estimate on what the next years arbitration estimate might be,
