Load saved game page

The Load Game option is used to load existing saved games.

To load a game, click on the saved game you wish to load, and then click OK, or simply double-click to load a game. Saved games are stroed in the data/saved_games directory of your OOTP installation. You cannot browse to another location to open a saved game. On the right, OOTP displays information about the highlighted game, including information about whether or not a backup exists for the highlighted game. If no backup exists, you should consider making a backup.

Thisscreenhas several other features as well:

Option Description
Delete Click on any saved game, and then click the Delete button to completely delete a saved game. You will be asked to confirm before proceeding, but once you proceed, there is no going back!
Rename Click on any saved game, and then click the Rename button to change the name of the saved game.
Favorites You can mark any saved game as a Favorite. When you do so, a section called "Favorite Saved Games" will appear at the top of the page.
Open Folder Click the Open Folder button to open the operating system folder containing the highlighted saved game's data.
Restore from Backup Begins the process of restoring a saved game from a backup.

Note: You can also rename or delete saved games directly from your hard drive. Game files are stored in the data/saved_games directory, and each saved game is contained in a separate directory, ending in a .lg extension. For example, if your game is called MyGame, then there will be a directory called data/saved_games/MyGame.lg. To delete this saved game, delete the entire MyGame.lg directory. You can rename leagues too, as long as you retain the .lg extension, or else OOTP will not recognize it as a valid game.
