Creating a Standard Game

Creating an OOTP league using real-world Major League teams and players has never been easier. From the Start Screen, just click on the New Game button and then choose New Standard Game.

As soon as you click on New Standard Game the dialog box above will appear on your screen. This will give you the options to pick to play games with the MLB, KBO, MLB Partner leagues, Honkbal Hoodfdklasse, British National Baseball League, and the World Baseball Classic! You can choose 1 or all of these options or a mixture of whatever leagues you want to include in your game.

World Baseball Classic

Play the WBC + Qualifiers
In new standard game, if selected, WBC qualifiers will run in 2025, full tournament in 2026
Actual 2025 WBC Rosters, where possible
Tournament will begin right at game creation. Winning teams from qualifiers will appear in main tournament in 2026
Tournament will continue every 4 years

At the bottom of this popup dialog box you will also have the option to name your game.

Live Start

Standard games can be started using the Live Start option, with updated standings, stats, ratings, and rosters as of the current real world date. This allows you to begin a game in an up-to-date simulation of the real world, playing whatever portion of the season remains. This will only work with MLB and KBO leagues only.

Off-Season Start

You can now choose to start in the off-season! This option allows you to start in the previous off-season, allowing you to sign that seasons current Free Agents! You can only choose the option of MLB and World baseball Classic when you choose to use the off-season option.

Start Game Button

After clicking on this button it will start to create your league. Once it is finished it will take you to the Setup your Manager screen.

Setup your Manager

On this page you will be able to edit your manager and select the team you would like to manage. You also have the options to choose if you want to play in GM and Manager mode, Manager mode, or GM mode. You can also choose to Play in Commissioner Mode (If you do not choose this option here, you can enabled it at anytime in game under your manager settings), and Cannot be fire which prevents the AI owner from firing you from your job!

Once you click Start Game on this page, you will be taken to your teams homepage and will begin your baseball journey!
